We were so happy to plan this micro wedding at Paradise Point!
Welcome to Sunny San Diego, where the weather is a cool 70 degrees and sunny nearly all year long. Why would you ever want to get married here? <insert sarcastic grin>
Paradise Point
One of my favorite staycation hotels is Paradise Point. I mean, it’s on a road called ‘Vacation Road’, so you know it’s a ridiculously good time. Paradise Point is on its own Island with nearly 360 degree views of Mission Bay. They have not one but FIVE pools on property to get your bronze on and relax at. They also have their own dock where you can rent a power boat, paddle board, kayak, jet ski, or any other water sport activity you desire. Convinced yet to stay here? Well, how about have your wedding here!
Facebook is not dead
It all started with a Facebook comment. I would never in a million years think that I would book business from Facebook groups. But here we are in 2021, and my friends, indeed I do. This is where I met Lindsey, our future bride to be. Lindsey was looking for a little coordination help for her destination wedding at Paradise Point and posted in a San Diego wedding Facebook group. I let her know I am well familiar with the property and a couple of emails later, we decided to team up for her wedding day on May 4th, 2021.
Micro wedding: Big plans
Lindsey and her groom, Kyle were planning their micro wedding (about 30 guests) from Washington. On our first zoom planning meeting, Lindsey mentioned she was so excited and nervous at the same time. Her and Kyle were hiding a BIG secret. They were having a baby! As a pregnant bride, Lindsey had other things on her mind, like fitting into her dress, what kind of Martinelli’s should she get and how she would reveal the gender of their baby. Luckily, I had experience with this. I was a pregnant bride. And had about 40 guests at my micro wedding. So I gave her my list of must have’s and shared the story of our own gender reveal, which was at our rehearsal dinner. It seemed like all too serendipitous that we were working together.
The Wedding Day
It was a perfectly sunny San Diego day on Tuesday, May 4th at Paradise Point. I arrived to check sound, the ceremony site and make sure the Bride was dressed and ready. Now, when you are at Paradise Point, this a BIG property, DO make sure you arrange for the golf carts to come pick you up for your wedding, especially if you’re in a wedding gown. Kyle actually made their wooden arch! Lindsey bought her own pampas grass and flowers to create her aisle vases and bouquet. Simple, sweet and beachy.
The ceremony went off without a hitch. This was my first wedding of 2021, since 2019 (thanks to the corona virus) and it filled my heart with so much joy, seeing these two deeply in love and growing their families.
Micro wedding Do’s
What I loved about this Paradise Point micro wedding is that although Lindsey and Kyle did not have a traditional ‘wedding party’ they did have all their guests wear matching colors to create a cohesive look for their day.
The gender reveal
After the ceremony, all their guests walked down to the beach for the gender reveal. With cannons of confetti and their best people surrounding them, Lindsey and Kyle found out they were going to be parents to a little……
IT’S A GIRL!
We could not be more excited and happy for these two! Good times to come.
